I am excited to offer “Worlds Within Worlds: Religion and Science Fiction” this coming January-February 2024 through the Humanities North Dakota program. This course will meet in a remote synchronous format. I am still refining the syllabus, but here is an initial list of topics we will cover:

Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Battlestar Galactica, Lord of the Rings (and other elements of Tolkien’s writings), Afro-Futurism & African Futurism, Islamicate SFF, Indigenous SFF
